Deep ruby with purple edges. Concentrated bouquet, ripe red berries and a hint of spices. Spicy flavour, almost full-bodied due to ripe, round tannins and medium aftertaste. The wine has been matured in a steel tank for 14 months. Grapes: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional.

15. Quinta do Vallado Tinto, Douro DOC € 7 / € 33 / € 3
Deep red, almost opaque. Versatile bouquet, very full-bodied, plenty of ripe berries, pansies and local herbs. Almost full-bodied flavour, intensive, well structured and ripe tannins promise plenty for the wine in the future as well. Well structured, stylish and lingering aftertaste. 70% of the grapes are from new vineyards and 30% from old ones. 80% of the wine has been matured in steel tanks for 17 months and 20% in French oak barrels for 15 months before final mixing. Grapes: Touriga Nacional 35%, Touriga Franca 20%, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Baroca and Sousao.

Blood red in colour. Condensed bouquet, dark berries, tobacco and spices, a hint of oak. Round, meaty flavour, good acidity. Ripe, lingering aftertaste with dark berries. The wine has been matured for 20 months in French oak barrels.

Dark red, slightly mature, purplish in colour. Strong bouquet, young and fresh, plum, raisin, cherry, suitable acidity, lingering aftertaste with liquorice and a hint of salty liquorice. The wine has been matured in oak barrels for three years before bottling. Sugar: 91.5 g/litre. Grapes: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca and Tinta Roriz.

Slightly transparent, well developed, reddish orange. Pure and mature bouquet, raisins, grapes and chocolate. Sweet and rich flavour, chocolate, raisiny fruitiness, mixed fruits, lingering and warm. The wine has been matured in oak barrels for four years before bottling. Sugar: 94.4 g/litre. Grapes: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca and Tinta Roriz.

Dark, deep, blackish red, even slightly purplish in colour. Strong bouquet, slightly mature. Sweet and strong flavour, slightly mature, jam-like fruit, liquorice, chocolate and smoke, lingering and balanced aftertaste. The wine has been matured in oak barrels for four years before bottling. Sugar: 97.4 g/litre. Grapes: Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca and Tinta Roriz.

Dark red, slightly purplish in colour. Elegant and harmonic bouquet, intensive ripe fruitiness, a hint of jam and vanilla. Young but soft flavour full of intense fruit, good acidity and tannins. The wine is matured in oak barrels for 4–5 years. Sugar: 92.7 g/litre. Grapes: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cão, Tinta Barocca and Tinta Roriz.

25. Burmester Colheita € 9 / € 4.50
Mature orange colour, a hint of amber. Strong and mature bouquet, vanilla, raisins, apricot, wood and a hint of cognac. Sweet and mature flavour, roundish, plenty of ripe fruit, sweet raisins, lingering and balanced, aftertaste of almond cookies. Excellent!
A delicious, mature wine with a couple of years left. The wine has been matured in 550-litre oak barrels. Sugar: 118.6 g/litre. Grapes: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barocca and Tinta Roriz.
