So describe Australia's original inhabitants, or Aborigines, their traditional woodwind instrument, the didgeridoo, one of the world's oldest instruments. The didgeridoo is fashioned from a eucalyptus branch that has been hollowed out by termites. Now we'll hear this mystical instrument at the Wine Festival.
To honour the 10th anniversary we will see a record number of performers from the theme country. In addition to didgeridoo artist Robin DeWan, the Wine Village will be filled with the sounds of three Australian bands: Jigzag, Junior, and the Wongawilli Band, who will appear daily at approximately 6.00 to 7.30 and 8.45 to 10.00 p.m.
In the accustomed fashion, guests at the Wine Village will also enjoy first-class Finnish performers. The Finnish concerts will begin at
7.30 p.m., following the evening's first Australian programme.
The Wine Village will be open daily from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. - on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., too.
